This beloved character is known for his gruff demeanor and Gatling gun arm, but he also has a heart of gold and is fiercely protective of his comrades.

Creating this piece was a labor of love, as I wanted to capture Barret’s essence and bring him to life in my own unique way. I spent countless hours researching his character design and personality traits, as well as immersing myself in the rich world of Final Fantasy VII.

As a longtime fan of the franchise, I was thrilled to revisit this beloved game and delve deeper into its intricate lore and mythology. From the bustling metropolis of Midgar to the mysterious depths of the Lifestream, Final Fantasy VII is a world full of wonder and danger, with memorable characters and a gripping story that has captivated audiences for decades.

Using Corel Painter, I was able to bring Barret to life with stunning detail and vibrant colors. Each brush stroke was carefully considered, as I aimed to capture his rugged exterior and inner strength. I also made sure to highlight his signature red jacket and sunglasses, which have become iconic staples of his character design.
